South Thanet named as having highest child poverty levels in Kent

According to a new report by the End Child Poverty (ECP) coalition, 25% children in Kent are living in poverty. The worst affected area is South Thanet, where 33.6% of children (7,030) were living in a very low-income home in December 2015. The lowest poverty ranking in Kent is in the Tonbridge and Malling local authority, where 17.33% children (3,975) are classified as growing up in poverty.
